My first stack using the Cognysis Macro Rail STackShot
Here is the Milky Way after MickeyMack has done his thing! He is the mast of Milky Way photography!
Really the only downside of this lens is its size and weight.
but I'm not giving up! Part of it is location and the moisture in the air. Part of it is our weather. Part of it is my lack of knowledge in CS6...how many of these can be overcome? This shot with an almost full Moon to my back....that doesn't help!
The Sigma 'Bigma' 50-500mm really can do it all.
One of the cheapest super zooms for the crop sensor but it produces! AND it is so lightweight. I intended this lens for the Canon 70D when it arrives but did get to try it for one day on the Canon T2i before shipping that body off for the sensor mod.
Canon 6D + Sigma 50-500mm
First successful stitch of multi shots of the Milky Way. Shots taken during almost full Moon at Ripshin Lake, Canon 6d, Samyang 14mm

I didn't want to risk this guys health by chilling him in the frig, so took the poses I got. He was a hard subject constantly jumping onto the lens.

This picture was formed using 10 individual pictures. Each picture was framed vertically and the pan was from left to right. The camera was on a gimbal head atop a tripod and all shots were complete manual including focus.

I head to Round Bald in the Roan system to fight 1/2 moon to get the Milky Way; It's 1a.m. and the winds are howling, thus the blurr in the tent post a 10 second exposure.

this one after working with the photo in CS6 and adding brightness contrast layer mask and a pohto filter. I knew the colors were there, it was just finding them!

Agreed a ways to go with the Milky Way but I'm very satisfied with this one.
