Criminal, I've got a house less than 2 miles from where this shot was taken and I'd never been to RHFf (Roan High Bluff) until this moring! It is a wondrous place for vistas and timlapse. Timelapse was my drawing card-look for a soon to be issued YouTube on the matter.

If it's sharp out of the lens and you've got 24 mp's at hand then you can crop like there is no tomorrow. This shot via the Minolta 200mm prime, a Keno 1.4 TC and the A77. Forgot to mention this is handheld!
So instanly impressed I've ordered this lens's sister, the Minolta 80-200mm F2.8 zoom
This is the reason. 300mm 35mm effective and 3 pounds. Low light capable and solid metal construction in camera body and lens.
You would think this incredible bokeh was something out of photoshop but nope, out of the 200mm
There will be lots of squirrel pics prior to the next Alaska trip-squirrels are perfect for long lens practice. This one with the 200mm just because I can't get over how sharp it is.
Imagine what nicer light could produce with this lens.
I couldn't wait to try this combo! It's the reason I bought this lens. The Nex 7 is known for its cropability and for its friendliness with long lenses. The weight/speed/and sharpness of this body/lens combo is wonderful. This shot taken on a very overcast day yet the clarity is still there.
Inside Death Valley looking west to the insurmountable range-the Sierra Madres.
Warped because that is the CS6 tool I used to overcome the major distortion via the 10mm Sony SEL1018. The end result isn't bad and the WHOLE castle is there :)

I forgot to mention the coolness factor of the Minolta 200mm F2.8; it's 27 years old....or maybe I did mention that later in the blog :)

Not too shabby from 30 feet. The 70-400g is known as a sharp lens for a zoom, but compare it with the Minolta shot below, no don't! HA! If you peep pixels you'll see there is no comparison.
